White Tea
White teas are the most delicate of teas and are appreciated by tea enthusiasts for their subtle complexity and slightly sweet taste, along with their wonderful health promoting properties. White tea is a true specialty tea and is relatively rare. White teas are made by gently hand picking the finest leaves, which undergo withering and air drying only. White tea is so named because of the silvery-white down often found on its leaves. The flavour of white tea is delicate with light fruit nuances, and is enjoyed by the tea connoisseur.
Health Benefits of drinking White Tea
Perhaps because they undergo very little processing, white teas have wonderful health promoting properties, even more so than green tea. White tea has a very high in antioxidants called polyphenols, which strengthen the immune system and are thought to help reduce the risk of cancer. White tea has the least amount of caffeine among all teas, and a cup has just 1% of the caffeine of a cup of coffee.
